Windy Thoughts by Amber "V" Mooonstone 3/18/15 Wind blown rush, penetrating the cerebral, blast of frigid air, rendering me silent. Quietly walking toward shelter, thoughts of sunshine balmy breezes, envelop my mind rendering me just a little peace. Relief is in sight, the building is within reach, I open the glass door and the wind blows it away. I try to grab the handle, but it's too late, Mother Nature wins, the door is shattered. Just a fine fitting end of my day, dress rehearsal for hours, teenagers screaming all kinds of orders, and mothers trying to help me. I am cold and hungry, I am tired beyond reckoning, but I must keep on moving forward, tomorrow is opening day! I look at the broken door, and I begin to laugh uncontrollably, I have always said, If you can't laugh then you will surely loose your mind! I close the shattered door, walk into my shop, dial up campus safety, and report the problem. As usual, it takes three calls to finally get a human voice. They say they will get to it. Yeah, In a NY minute I Not! Time to find the last remaing costumes, grab them and get out of dodge, head home and collapse on the sofa, only to wake up and start this all over again! |
